Position Summary

The duties of this job require a high degree of specialized expertise and skill in maintaining established standards of quality and accuracy. Responsibilities

  • Ensure proper, safe, efficient, and timely completion of landscape installation projects
  • Read & follow plans and specs to install landscape in accordance to project scope
  • Communicate issues on projects to Supervisor
  • Manage crew of 3-5 people at any time

Requirements

  • 3-5 years experience in Landscape Construction with extensive knowledge of irrigation systems, plants, landscape construction materials, and installation procedures

Job Duties:

  • You will be the primary contact for your clients, building long-term relationships that foster satisfaction, retention, and enhancement opportunities
  • Performing site walkthroughs with clients to ensure quality and service expectations are met
  • Work closely with maintenance supervisors to ensure quality standards are met
  • Proactively presenting site enhancements to your clients

Commercial Project Manager

General Information

K & D Landscaping, Inc. is a family owned and operated business that has been serving the central coast since 1986. We treat our employees as part of the family and strive to provide the best working environment possible.

We currently have a full-time position available as Project Manager for our Commercial Installation Division. You will be overseeing the installation of many large projects for K&D Landscaping. From project acquisition to completion and owner turn over, you will be responsible for the successful implementation of these contracts.

Job Duties:

  • Assist Estimator by developing production hour quantities for large projects
  • Efficiently manage up to (5) projects in progress and 5-10 pre-con/post-con projects
  • Perform all contract reviews, submittals, change order docs, RFI’s, and other requirements for projects as set forth in the related plans and specifications
  • Manage project schedule weekly with Operations Manager to keep projects on track
  • Responsible for ordering all material required for each project in conjunction with Purchasing Manager, Ops Manager and vendors
  • Communicate with general contractors, vendors, sub contractors, and K&D staff for project updates and coordination
  • Attend weekly team meetings
  • Visit job sites often to ensure progress is trending in the right direction
  • Manage projects up to approx. $4M in revenue per year
  • Manage estimated labor and materials vs. actual labor and materials to budget or below
  • Assist with billing questions and issues as needed for managed projects
  • Develop and maintain great relationships with general contractors, subs, vendors etc.
  • Provide job cost analysis at end of projects and review with COO

Experience/Qualifications:

  • Experience in the landscape industry is required (3-5 years)
  • Responsible for enforcing safety of the job site and company employees on site
  • Ability to manage field level personnel at multiple projects
  • Can Communicate professionally with Owners/Managers and Field staff

Position Summary

Pick up and deliver equipment and materials. Support overall yard duties and improvements and discuss progress. Report issues and help create solutions for better efficiency with daily yard operations. Be a team player and work with all other co-workers with respect and a common goal to better the company. Duties & Responsibilities

  • Check in with crews daily to discuss their needs and/or issues. Be ready to report these to the Operations Manager, daily.
  • Load/Unload equipment and/or material as needed at yard.
  • Coordinate with the Operations Manager to transport equipment and material to job sites.
  • Assist with keeping equipment in good condition including greasing small equipment, heavy machinery, and all trailer components: jacks, axles, dump beds, doors, pressure washing, etc.
  • Operate Tractors, forklift as needed.
  • Handle Green-waste Duties: Consolidate, load and haul green waste to the dump site.
  • Coordinate with the Operations Manager to assist with equipment tag out and the reservation system.
  • Keeping a clean and organized yard including dumpster and trash pick-up coordination.
  • Ensure water jugs are stocked in yard and office at all times.
  • Help maintain the equipment repair area by consolidating red and green tagged equipment.
  • Perform miscellaneous tasks as needed.

 Requirements

  • Must be an approved Company Driver with Good Driving Record-Provide CA DMVR
  • Ability to drive with a truck and trailer.
  • Ability to work overtime during busy season with flexible hours.
  • Ability to operate tractors for loading, unloading, and moving on jobsites.

Preferred

  • 1-3 years driving and/or mechanical experience
  • Class A license is a plus for this position – K&D sponsored certification available
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish is a plus)
